Sr. Rita Pelletier

Sister Rita Pelletier Sr. Rita Pelletier spent the first 12 years of her religious service performing household chores and working as a receptionist at the convent in Brookline, Massachusetts. After moving to Sabattus, Maine, she received training at CMVTI in Auburn, Maine as a Lisenced Practical Nurse, and worked at Marcotte Home in Lewiston, Maine. She is a missionary at heart, and spent 13 years living in Arizona, ministering to Navajo Indians. After her time in Arizona, she moved to Des Moines, Iowa, and worked in health care for the next 10 years.

She has held positions as Treasurer, Prioress, and Provincial Councilor in the religious community for some 12 years. Upon (supposedly) retiring, she returned to Lewiston, Maine and continued limited home care for the elderly, a work she continues to carry out at her new residence in Sabattus.

Sister Rita is a prayerful liturgist, a wonderful storyteller with a great sense of humor whose laughter is a gift to all. One of her hobbies is making her own jigsaw puzzles.
